![]() Queen x ScholarA Story by DecentlyOkayWriter![]() Love is as faint as watered down ink![]() A queen needed love, but could not find the one. Soon people lined up, ready to offer their money, their power, their cove But the queen chose the scholar, who had nothing to offer- The queen was great, but the scholar was bait The queen could not see the ruse Soon there was nothing to do, for the queen was done She was deeply in love, and the scholar would lie if he said he wasn't too Love doesn't always win out The scholar was doomed anyway, for a long time ago, he had sold the king out The queen had yet to know, but soon she would, and the town would follow, Demanding his death on a pike. The queen, tried to spare him, but the scholar was set, he would take what he earned, he told the queen not to fret "I'll see you, fair lady, and remember the light." Soon after, the scholar was dead, the only thing remaining of him was his head- and a thin silver chain, tucked away, in the queen's crimson red corset Love may not tend to win, but grief always does Or so the legend says. Soon the queen died, with nothing tied to her name, but a thin silver chain. Leaving the kingdom bereaved, with no one to lead except the queens old steed So the lean, of course took the lead. I would like to say, that they meet again the queen and scholar alike- and stayed in love and flourished in love, but wouldn't that be all the same? The scholar was dead and the queen was dead, never to see the light of day The queen can't remember the light, the scholar can't remember the day. But maybe somewhere they remain Forever in love Making it worth the pain
