Crocodile TearsA Poem by DecemberistAs I was writing this poem, I thought: What if a girl's mother was murdered? And what if she knew who the murderer was?On your ruddy face is a phony smile
An oily one of a scam artist And when you touch my shoulder With that big, white hand It’s all I can do not to spew up
breakfast. You sneer those nasty words into my
ear The slogan of the day The words echo in my ear So I box my own ears to keep them
out Feel
better, feel better, feel better When you see my disgust, my pain, The rivers flowing off my cheeks Your mouth forms a comical ‘O’ And 'struggling' to hide your taunting smile , Your giddiness You cry tears of a Crocodile. Congratulations You have wept for your own victim.
