Left Behind in the Shadow of AnotherA Poem by Oscarmy very first poem. Figured I may as well start this account off with my first piece
I had given,
I had gave, But alas my body, Was to rot in a grave. I had been tricked And betrayed. Your fingers clicked And left me oh so afraid. The air was eerie, The street was quiet, There was no noise, The night was silent. I felt tension in the air, This perfect silence, Was causing my despair. I called to you. I cried your name. I asked "where are we going?". Tonight my life would never be the same. You turned to me, your face not sane, Frightened thoughts rattled inside my brain. I asked what's wrong, You came closer, I backed up along, The wall of a greengrocer. A tear ran down your eye And what quickly followed, Was a heartbreaking cry. A silver glint, The knife that followed, A blades imprint, My veins now hollow. You were my friend, I had trusted you. My feelings had been ripped out, The feelings you had for another, Began to seep through. And so you left me, Alone on the pavement. My heart now shattered, My skin tattered. Sirens screamed, my soul was fleeting. And on the cold hard floor, My heart stopped beating. © 2015 OscarAuthor's Note
