Helminthophobia

Helminthophobia

A Poem by Typhoid Kelsey
"

Fear of being infested by worms.

"

Worms

terrify me

not earthworms,

you see

but tapeworms

maggots, larvae

parasitic grubs

scare me away

invertibrate chubs

that wiggle and squirm,

and move in waves

that conquerer worm

living in graves

strange that death

doesn't bother me much

void of a breath

and cold to the touch

or all shriveled up

and your bones protrude

doesn't bother me much

unless you're worm food

and then I can't look

at the mass of white

not saved by the good book

nothing more than bug bites.

Yikes, very unsettling! But that means it's well written, good job.

Eeeeewww lol

I can honestly say I've never heard of this phobia.....what a fear to have! This is a great poem. I loved the rhythm of it, and the rhyming was excellent....great job!

Thank you for entering the contest!
