his side

his side

A Poem by Angela Proctor
"

loss aftermath

"
There he sits all alone in the world
His hearts broken
His minds racing
The world seems to be suffocating him
He cant understand why
He cant smile
Why does everything happen to him
There is no simple answer
No answer from God
He's left to fend for himself
He cant get to a happy place
So he makes a comfy home in misery
Everyday he walks among the living
But he is dead inside
His eyes cold and dark
People try to cheer him up
His reply is as cold as the December wind
He cries into his pillow for her to return
He would be thankful for one more day
There is one thing that will warm his heart
But they live by the sun

Loss has a way of numbing us to everything but our own misery. I felt his pain.

I like how engrossing this is. I think that last line though is curious since it goes in another direction....I like how you get 'his' side down and its so emotional.
