Mommy

Mommy

A Poem by Deborah Hamilton

My mother is frightening

I like her

Her laugh is severe

She lashes her head back

She is a subjugating intimate

My forehead cracks when she stares at me

She’ll wheeze as she ages

And she’ll use the word “crotch” more often

Her comportment will be malefic

She will be unable to conceal her mirth

My mother is frightening

I like her

I think I like your mother, too. : )

I know I like your poem about her, and a bit about You.

You're interesting, Deborah! ⁓ Richard 🍃
