Well, it is pretty. It's also, no offense, written with some common themes and ideas. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I would like it even more without the lines that most of us think of when we see a view. I like uncommon ideas that I wish I had thought of.
I hope I haven't offended you with this...
I like the simplicity of this piece. I like that it's short, just a glimpse of this view. However, what if you did a version without the rhymes? The rhythm is a little bit off, and I think that only ends up distracting from your purpose. Other than that, I really enjoyed this poem. I love pieces that capture the little moments of life, and you did a great job at that.
P.S.--I'm sorry about taking so long with the Summer Stories contest. I just moved and I haven't got the chance yet to read/review stories. I hope to be done sometime soon, though.
I felt I was reading part of a poem. I guess I was looking for the description of where you were... what you were looking at and why so nice? I did get the over view in my own mind of what I would call the "perfect view". Maybe that is what you were going for? Rhyme was well done!
I love this piece for so many reasons: the way you approached the beauty of nature; you did it in such a serene way, where one must tip-toe to not scare off the small creatures awaiting on the sides of those mountains along such paths as a windy road to pull over to an overlook on a Sunday drive, and to stand and inhale new eyes with such a view. There is nothing like solitude within oneself, in harmony with nature.
i agree with you about a beautiful view being a timeless piece of living art..this is soo true..ahah the imagery makes this poem come to life..great!

ou i like it lol. its very nice. umm only one small thing though:
The sight of you just makes my heart sing.
My soul seems to soar in my lonely heart.
umm well its a bit of a contradiction, i hope im not being rude its totally your piece. it just seems that in the first line the heart is happy and the second line the heart changes to lonely.
I totally thought this was going to be a poem about the talkshow! ;) I completely agre with you about a good view. This is a lovely, sentimental poem depicting everything that's wholesomely good about one's surroundings...and I know just how you feel--take a look at the pics of the beachhouse view I had this last weekend.
