Societies ChildA Poem by Debra Stevens Edwards (debby)enviroments affect livesSocieties Child
A child is born in poverty. And this child lives in misery.
Societies child learns to hate. cause poverty is a terrible fate.
As the child grows to an adolecent stage. He finds you can't live on minimum wage.
For awhile he tries to live this way. But his day and nights are again cold and gray.
A so called friend introduces him to crime. But then he gets busted and has to do some time.
Another friend hands him a gun. So he’ll take your money and then he’ll run
Society ask why he is this way? They don’t understand, that’s why they say.
But society made this man what he is, They’ve shaped and they’ve molded the way he lives.
People say he’s crazy or wild, But it’s just a way of life for Societies Child...
