A Teenage Wish

A Teenage Wish

A Poem by jay

One day I wish to leave this place behind,
I wish to feel the wind on the calming hills of Ireland,
I wish to walk on the old cobblestone paths of Germany,
I wish to see the beauty of the ruins of Greece,
I wish to leave this place behind,
not because it isn't pretty,
not because I want to get away from the people here,
because I have seen how people let the world limit themselves,
because I have seen teenage wishes fade away,
because I have been told "you only have one life" by people who live in regret,
I'm still a teenager but I'll always remember my "teenage wish" until I can make it a reality.
