OUT OF TIME

It about death and the chase

 

           OUT OF TIME

 

             At this time

             In this place

        Running this race

 

             Out of time

           Can not hide

       Haunting thoughts

 

         Plague my mind 

          I see the signs

           Age unkind

 

          No one’s safe

         Bitter distaste

       Fast daunting pace

 

          On my heels

     Overcome by chills

  Fear soaked bleeding quill

 

         Borrowed time

          Life sublime

       Mortality’s crime

 

         Death so real       

    Skin starting to peel

       See Me Kneel

 

  On Hollowed ground

     Without a sound

       Gravity bound

 

    My time has come

      So see me run

     In the direction

        Of the sun

Debbie, this is a very powerful poem, and maybe because of my age (45) and just starting to see the signs of aging in my own mirror, of feeling mortality sitting at my front door like a patient feline, just waiting, waiting for me, knowing I must eventually come through that door, this poem hits home and hits hard. I see those signs of age unkind. Excellent work!

I think this one has a nice flow to it. I like it. Good job. Just wondering about this though: ....is that from the page you're writing this? It was a bit distracting. But it didn't take away the beauty of the words.
