Delusions Of Grandeur

Keep telling yourself what you need to hear the delusion of the self is the best preservation of the ego. It will be the last to go no one likes to get old we all want to roll the clock back to a time when we had it all.

Now... only now do you appear sad, desperate and clinging to the notion that you got it like that ,they will see you for what you really are who you really are.

Who is that by the way??  There is something to be said in growing old gracefully…oh you can fight it we all do, but without delusions of grandeur in which you seem to revel.

It’s not becoming, it’s not a good fit, reexamine you heart, soul, conscious and focus on the real … it’s your only hope.

This is highly appropriate for WC. not in the sense that I think writers are delusional. Just with myself, I know that I usually feel for a moment after I've posted something like that will be the one that gets a lot of attention. That piece of writing will be the thing that people see greatness in. And then after a few days the truth sets in, like a stain.

You've expressed all that in a better way above, so I don't mean to regurgitate it. Just that I get that feeling. I wonder if writers feel it more than other people, because we constantly put ourselves out there.

Also that picture is terrifying.

Love this rant/prose poem.. My only regret from my youth is not taking my writing seriously enough in my 20s.. I would probably be a published writer by now if I had. But oh well.. I am still young enough to hopefully see that dream come true. *phew* my own little rant to your rant.. lol.

Good luck convincing me that I want to relive my teens. And the hardest years I worked, beyond the stress and fatigue, I came home to a lousy marriage after my shift. Jeez, I hated life. I hung in there only for the kids.
I fathered 2 wonderful children, and I got most of the parenting thing spot on. So I am closer to the now adult sons as ever. Who cares about their mother, and where she is?
And the grand babies! It just keeps getting better and better.
I should put in another 30 years if I take care of myself, and Karma gives me a wink and a nudge. Life does not end at 60. For some like me, it is just the beginning of the best part.
