~~ FOG ROLLING IN ~~

~~ FOG ROLLING IN ~~

A Poem by Debbie_Philly

Fog's Rolling In

Fog is rolling in , man is it creepy half a block from the beach

It's 11:30 pm guess tomorrow will be humid

Looks like fog anyway could be the twisted tea's

clouding my vision and I'm laughing to myself cause

I just don't give a S**T

As I'm sitting on the balcony overlooking the Atlantic.

Fog is rolling in it's creepy yet mesmerizing at the same time

kind of like my old boyfriends

Till then I'll just pray the sea creatures stay in THAT direction.

The fog rolling in from the ocean creating a mystical appearance on the night. Grey for miles yet you can still here the surf calling from beyond. This poem was mesmerizing, silent, calm and just a bit eerie, but very well written. I am growing rapidly fond of your style.

Is it wierd to admit that this made me laugh? I like the part where you compare the incoming fog to your ex boyfriends.....lol

Tongue in cheek here? You've created your own atmosphere, the scent, the feel, the look and lost yourself in a kind of smiling safety! Those old boyfriends certainly had strange personalities !

Nothing as powerful as the energy of an angry North Atlantic. I am reminded of the memories. Thank you.

I like the contrast in your work. It varies from the semi-lyrical to, well this. I really like this one. It's personal but its not trying, a sort of pragmatism about the voice that lends to the realism here. Its the kind of realism that gives it an edge, like looking at Sally Mann's photograph, candy cigarette or something. That same attitude, great stuff!

I really loved reading this. Your style of writing is very impressive...I felt I was there looking out over the Atlantic through the fog! I love fog...it's so mysterious and eerie..reminds me of London! Great poem! I'm glad I stopped by... it was well worth it!

You are very welcome!
fog can be fascinating when you don't have to deal with it... it brings some fun mystery to the human psyche. I enjoyed this poem.

Thank you Cowboy !!! ;)
Chuckling here... I remember Stephen King's "The Fog" - short story. The first time I read it - I appreciated having electricity on a stormy eve.

I didn't taste expected emotions here - neither dark, nor particularly tense. I did appreciate the bit of 'tude... and seeming (?) resignation/tired with it all.
