Remember the fallen, Honor the livingA Poem by Chris RampersadNot the best poem but I think the message pretty clear. Many a time I look back at life, How young I use to be, Unaware of life and death, They both were foreign to me,
As I grew I had no choice but learn, How sad they both can be, How everyone I know and love, Could go away so suddenly, With no time to prepare, Without a warning, It doesn't matter when and where, That was my sad awakening, And I would sit in my chair, Stricken with regret, Of all the things I should have said and done, When I knew that they were here, We always seem to forget these things when we had the chance, And when they're gone with no return, Realize we've made the wrong choice, And its inevitable, this tragedy of men, To take for granted whats right in front of him, And cry when it is gone, So to you who read this now I offer you advice,
Don't let the chance slip you by, You know what you should do, Tell them how much they mean to you, While they're still in front of you, And if your words will not escape, Your actions will be the way, Let them know how much u feel every single day, Tell your family "Thanks for loving me", Tell your friends you're glad you met, Tell that person that you love, That you're glad they're in your life, Remember the fallen, Honor the living. © 2013 Chris RampersadReviews
