Poetry is not a joke

Poetry is not a joke

A Poem by Death's Poet
"

I went to a "Poetry reading" Where it was a bunch of twentysomething stoners reading rhyming stories about going to the market. They made a joke out of poetry the entire night. this was inspired

"
A poets work is not a joke
With a pen in our hand, tears in our eyes we choke

No matter how silly or vain
A poets work comes from heart, from pain

So before you mock a true poets art
Just know, the ink on their page, once broke their heart
