Gone before I even knewA Poem by Death's PoetLucyYou were gone before I even knew What was I supposed to do? I would have done anything, if only to save you. But sadly, I was given no way No way to save you, to make you stay In spite of myself, an angel in the ground you lay I'm sorry for both what was done and what was not So in ink and tears, to you this letter I have wrought To tell you that I'm sorry for letting go of you But tell me. PLEASE tell me WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO?
