The Promise

I promise to not go to sleep mad

I promise to stay when things get bad

I promise to call you every day

I promise to kiss your tears away

I promise to always keep your hand to hold

I promise to snuggle when it gets cold

I promise to kiss you on the nose

I promise to love you from your head to your toes

I promise to always to forgive any wrong

I promise to always dance to our song

I promise to hug you when you are down

I promise to hug away any frown

I promise to look into your eyes

I promise to lay in the grass and look at the skies

I promise to apologize after every fight

I promise to tell you "I love you" every night

I promise to always be your girl

And me and you, can take on the world

Hi Shadow Poet, I was going to say that I was uncomfortable about the I will apologise after every argument phrase - I though to myself when I read it - hold on! thats very subservient but then I read the Authors Note which puts a different slant on things. You can't put a qualifying statement in such a write - i.e. I will apoligise (if Im in the wrong) because that just doesnt belong in a write with such a purpose as an Anniversary present. So Yes, I would give this as it is.

Thank you so much!! Me and him kind of have this unspoken thing where we both appologize, no matter who was blatently wrong, It's kind of our way of keeping the slate clean all the time. But I can totally see how that might come across as very submissive. Thank you so much for your kind words :)

No its entirely the opposite if both are apologising thats what I initially feared was being conveyed in the write but your revelation makes it a whole different (and beautiful - may I say) thing - a vow of love - its really, really lovely. :)
