The Rise to Heaven

The Rise to Heaven

A Poem by Death's Poet
"

this is the sister poem to "Devil's Deal"

"
I woke up laying in a daze
On a cloud of white, in the moons gentle rays

I was somewhere new, though I knew not where
I turned to find an angel there

Though it may seem strange, I did not fear
I could feel in my heart I was welcome here

He reached out his hand for me to take
But when i felt his touch, the illusion did not break

"Where am I?" I asked with a bit of surprise
The angel smiled softly, and looked me in the eyes

"In heaven of course, why can't you tell?
"Your soul was brought up when your lovers fell"

And at that moment I knew what was done
He traded paradise for the fires of the sun

I knew right then his love was true
For selling ones soul isn't easy to do.

Yes it does add a new chapter to the story Shadow Poet and the style or the ambiance of the writing I feel has changed (from Devils Deal) to reflect a Heavenly feel to it. I hope this isnt the end - Im really hoping for a court battle set somewhere between Heaven and the other place to get them both up there with St Peter, but the arguments would have to be so so strong.
Have you ever seen the movie "A matter of Life or Death" - its old but it would make for supremely wonderful research if one was to undertake a third part to this poetic saga in the future.

See you got me all worked up now...
But this is a great pair of poems and a great concept.

this is a great part to go along with Devils Deal, simple still yet the message is indeed true, couldn't agree more and very much enjoyed it
