The Rise to HeavenA Poem by Death's Poetthis is the sister poem to "Devil's Deal"
I woke up laying in a daze
On a cloud of white, in the moons gentle rays I was somewhere new, though I knew not where I turned to find an angel there Though it may seem strange, I did not fear I could feel in my heart I was welcome here He reached out his hand for me to take But when i felt his touch, the illusion did not break "Where am I?" I asked with a bit of surprise The angel smiled softly, and looked me in the eyes "In heaven of course, why can't you tell? "Your soul was brought up when your lovers fell" And at that moment I knew what was done He traded paradise for the fires of the sun I knew right then his love was true For selling ones soul isn't easy to do.
