"We aren't so different, you and I"
With her friend at her side she peered into the sky "Though your skin is dark and mine is light, We both eat, we both drink, we both sleep at night. Maybe you look a bit different from me But more alike than different don't you see? We have eyes, a nose, mouth and ears, Inside we both have joys, and both have fears." She looked at her friend who nodded to agree "We aren't so different, yes I see." Then was a silence between the two "Why can't others see this as we do?" No matter their color the two girls were friends With no prejudice between them they joined hands If only the world would take a cue And love one another as children do
