Devil's deal

Devil's deal

A Poem by Death's Poet
"

Just a quick poem that came into my mind so I typed it out and shared it

"
Through the gates of death I trod
To make a devil's deal with God

To pull the one I love from Hell
I offered up my soul to sell

For when you love someone so much they say,
Even your very own soul is a small price to pay

I had read (from the Bible) "Man can have no greater love than to lay down his life for his friend" (paraphrased)
But this takes it to another level - lay down a soul for a soul - thats quite a dark write but on the other hand ...
Its that kind of write - like the saying glass half empty/half full - it depends on your perspective I guess. How do we know we have the soul's permission to send it to Hell. It might just go "You know what, its been great and all that but I don't think so" and storm off, never to be seen again.

Im impressed that you just came up with this and typed it up. The last couplet is my favorite. Such love!

Hi Shadow Poet. A very poignant piece of writing. There is just a trace of emotion lurking to give your poem authenticity, alf
