I-90A Poem by Hide From GodThe one road that can take me back to here-wow wish you could write a poem about me like this, guess I don't mean that much to you. maybe you should sign out of your account next time....
And as we drive along
With the open road ahead of us, We sit back and take it in. The music playing as we nod along. Hands out the window going with the wind. Tapping on the steering wheel to the beat. Letting everything, take us away. "This is perfect" you say. "I couldn't agree more" I respond. You're blond hair flowing across your face. Those warm green eyes gazing at me. That radiant, intoxicating smile, only adds to you. I reach for your hand, But all I grab is air. You're not there. You haven't been for awhile. Over three thousand miles away, It feels like more. "It gets harder everyday knowing you aren't there. Not seeing you, not hearing you, not feeling you," I say. As the tears start to form, I grip the wheel tighter. My foot slowing pressing down on the gas. I find myself heading west On that route I know so well. The pain will fade as miles pile up And the distance of missing you will diminish. My arms long to hold you And my eyes long to see your face. Massachusetts to Washington. I-90 will take me there. © 2013 Hide From God |
