Long Ago

Long Ago

A Poem by Hide From God
"

Someone once told me this a long time ago

"

Someone once told me
A long time ago
That I could never be alone
This is what I was shown
But as I sit here
With a cold side
I can't help but think
That somewhere down the line
You forgot what you said to me
And as my head hangs low
A single tear runs down my face
As I remember what you said to me
Oh so long ago

It's happened to me from time to time. They say they'll never leave, but it's all lies, lies, lies, I suppose.
There's nothing worse than being ignored, or left alone.

"But as I sit here/ With a cold side" Simple, but brilliant line.

Short but very well to the point. You really get across the feeling of abandonment and lonliness. I think it's important to be able to communicate a feel when poetry's written (at least that's what I look for personally, it's not a "written law") but I think you did a great job of that here. I, and I think many people, will identify with this.

Wow. This is a really beautiful poem. I can think of many things this poem can mean and it's great reading it over again. I can't really explain what i like about it except for the fact that it's so well written.

Thank you for sharing.

Rina

Tattooed Hearts and Broken Promises. Oh girl this boat is sinking, There's no sea left for me. And how the sky gets heavy, When you are underneath it. Oh, I want to sail away from here, And G.. more..
