Dead American Dream

Dead American Dream

A Poem by Hide From God
"

Sometimes dreams don not pan out

"

Through the air and over the seas
Normal people like you and me
Hoping for that one thing
That is offered on this land
Making their dreams come true

Working hard to feed their family
Everyday its a struggle to survive
Always being told that they have that chance
Slowly realizing that their dreams are fading
Just one more dead american dream

Oppressed and held back
Can't rise from the ashes

It's the same ol' song and dance
Just one more dead american dream
For all the hopeful working class
They don't realize it's a dead american dream
