Just Thought I'd Drop By....

and say how much I missed you.

My chest is tight and head light
I haven’t seen him in a longtime
Turing the corner, I open my mouth to speak
How are you doing? It’s been awhile.
Things have been going okay.
I met a girl and college is ok.
Classes are tough I say.
The silence is killing me
Why’d you have to leave I ask
It was so sudden, no one expected it
You didn’t tell anyone
Just left without so much as a goodbye
I miss you god damnit
Just come back please
I don’t want anything else
I just want you to come back I said
Tears coming to my eyes
I look down at you
I brought these for you
I know how much you liked them
I stand up and look around
I guess this is goodbye
Ill drop in again, don’t worry
I turn to leave, but I say one more thing
You’ve been gone for five years
And it gets harder every year
I turn and walk away from my friend’s grave
With memories still in my mind

And the pictures I left

Lightly fluttering in the wind
