How do I know?

This about how can you trust someone.

You say that you love me,

Yet how do I know that your true?

How do I know that you won't

Break my heart into pieces?

 

How do I know that you won't leave me?

How do I know that your heart is mine?

I wish that these questions had answers.

I can't answer them. Only you can.

 

I trust you with my life

But how do I know that you'll keep me safe?

How do I know that I'm not in danger?

I wish that I knew.

 

My heart is trusted with you.

Yet, I still am scared.

I don't know if you would keep me.

How do I know?

I would consider the first stanza: "Break my heart in two." I like the push pull sense of this poem. I would shorten the third stanza second sentence to make it flow a little better.
