Pound and Ground

Pound and Ground

A Poem by Stephen Bennett
"

Dark poem from my dark mind.

"

Hated me or love me for every fleshly pound,
Kick me, break me, kill me and put me in the ground,
here the life I wish I had, the popular, the fake,
here the life I love right now, hard and face down in the lake,
Here the way I wish I was, Afraid to say, Afraid to speak,
Here the way I am, alive and screaming out loud,
Dying for a leak, but yet fishing down in the creak,
Love it when am alone, hate being out in a crowd,

Hate me or love me for every fleshly pound,
Kick me, Kiss me, slice me even stab me into the ground,
You want me to bow,
Joke and giggle with you now,
Here a home truth for the world,
see you all in the netherworld,
I don't care whether it love or hate,
Just happen that there is food on my plate.
But honestly I rather be beaten, pound and ground.
