Be Free, ButterflyA Poem by nora"Do you remember, butterfly?" -Secondhand Serenade, Your Call
Be Free, Butterfly
Do you remember,
My sweet butterfly?
Those nights
The stars were glistening,
How we spoke
Of all things small and big?
Do you remember,
My great angel?
Those sunrises,
Arms embraced,
Smiling and whispering,
“Good morning, sunshine”?
Do you remember,
My valiant knight?
Those evenings
I would cry and scream.
You held me tight,
And promised your love?
Do you remember,
My handsome prince?
Those pretty words
Of comfort and love.
My eyes shining for you,
My mouth smiling for you?
Do you remember,
My enamoring chéri?
One night,
When the moon was glowing,
You packed your bags and left,
Taking peices of me with you?
Can you recall,
When that change came?
When my world collapsed,
And yours was re-built?
You are walking a path,
On which I am no longer welcome.
Look for that sunshine,
Who will light your way and lift your heart.
