Poison's TollA Poem by nora"I've seen more spine in jellyfish, I've seen more guts in eleven-year-old kids"- Brand New, Seventy Times 7
Poison’s Toll
Alas! She has been spurned,
Branded with the mark of a fool.
His words were poisoned with lies,
Disguised by petty tidings.
She granted her trust,
Bestowed it unknowingly.
She gifted her love,
Innocent and foolish.
Oh! But now!
She broods silently.
Her anger flaring wildly,
Fear rearing its’ ugly head.
She has slain her pity,
For he deserves it not.
Revenge,
Sweeter than the best of treats.
For she is bitter,
And alone with her hatred.
