Nyctophobia's Wake

Nyctophobia's Wake

A Poem by DearSweetAgony

Midnights everlasting determination to turn my greatest fears into my ultimate fears

In one nights wake, my face will be flooded with infernal tears

The sting of chilly winds, freezes the down pour flowing from my blood shot eyes

Blood accompanies my sharp icy tears, Oh lord! how I wish for sunrise

An empty, dark abyss, finds home within the sky tonight

All is dark,  Except for the great white beacon that burns shadows into my myopic sight

The creatures of my imagination dance, swirling and twirling, addling my slipping mind

Oh! how the demons dance through the casts of the shadows, as the moon unyieldingly resumes to shine

All clocks have stopped,  Time has become limitless, the worlds movement seems to have ceased

I listen to Lucifers beckoning as my slippery grasp lets go and my fragile sanity tries to escape from me

Taunts of the wicked beast, echos into my ears, while the night remains still; just as I

The demonic beings surround every corner of my sight.  Suddenly, a pain surges through me and I can't help but let out a cry

Lucifer has struck me from behind! "Now you'll be mine." he whispers,  as  my blood leaks upon the shifting ground

The floor opens wide and  devours everything inside, in horror I shriek a horrible sound

Drenched in the perspiration terror has brought to me, I scream, and scream, and scream

The sun shines bright, for it is day, and my nyctophobic fears were only a mere dream
