The Silhouette Of The ShadowsA Poem by DearSweetAgonyGod has deserted me, he has left my existence in the silhouette of the shadows (The darkest crevices of his mind) The angels fly to the Golden Gates, with their backs turned on an old friend, an old angel. (The lives that they once had no longer matter, and neither do the people) I watch them fly, none of them turn back, A rain drop falls on my head as I whisper "goodbye" (Sorrow envelopes me in the pits of loneliness) Satan stretches his black wings out to me, I crawl to the embrace of a thousand dark suns. (nothing shines in the darkness of despair) God watches as I cry, bleed and starve, The tears from the heavens mourn the living casket that harbors the broken soul of a lost angel. I hear their cries and I hear the devils taunts, but the taunts speak louder. (Hopes of redemption are forgotten even if the thought of light conquers the darkness) God nods his head in approval, signaling for Satan to blow away the crumbs to my past. (All memories fade as my heart grows black) The path of destruction is a long and lonesome road, with only my dark shadow with me. (To remind me that I am no longer the angel I used to be, I am a demon of the devil) © 2011 DearSweetAgonyReviews
