To Need A Hero

To Need A Hero

A Poem by DearSweetAgony

A token of gratitude to the heros that watched the fire blaze through the city

The blood stained their hands

and the fury in their eyes burned endlessly

They heard the screams of the helpless from the edge of the cliff

They saw the death and painful faces of the ones they couldn't save

They smelt the burnt corpses of the damned as the smoke rose to the heavens

Their blackened and torn capes flew to the insulting whispers of the wind

Misery haunted their every breath as they watch the desperation grow and cease

They buried the young, no one was saved

They bowed their heads in prayer for the city that didn't make it

A toast to the Leader that fell away from the

track leaving his followers in the dark

We do many 'things' to break patterns...
even create them.
