And The Sky Was The Limit

And The Sky Was The Limit

A Poem by DearSweetAgony

Rain, rain come and stay

subside the flood for when I wake.

Trees, trees cover me

comfort me until I leave.

Lullaby, lullaby sing softly

until the bough breaks I will remain asleep.

Flood, flood down beneath

embrace me until I cease to breath.

Light, light please guide me to the place

where eternity is waiting

I silently pray before I say goodbye

As I dive into the sky.

This poem is really dark.
I hope this is a two way trip.

I really like the reversal of the usual associations the words create - great control and an assured style.
