The Meltdown Of The Sun

The Meltdown Of The Sun

A Poem by DearSweetAgony

Anger?..whats the point?
I can't unleash such a beast
 for two reasons
1: I would fall off of my high white horse and possibly break my neck.
2: I can't let them see me down, I can't turn down the light.
The life of the sun, some would think that this life is perfect.
But to be truthful, it's tiring.
They cut me with insults but I can't cry
Those tears would show that I'm human.
But I am not human, I can't be human.
I am the sun
I can't get angry and cut back
My anger would show that I'm angry and anger is a human emotion.
I am not human, I can't be human.
I am the sun
I can't let this burden of existence show sorrow
Sorrow is a human emotion and I am not human
I am not human
I am not human
I am not human
I am not human
I am the sun

Author's Note

DearSweetAgony
This poem is about a person who seems together.
A grand person who is tired of being so grand.
The sun is bigger and brighter than the stars...So by that the sun is better.
What I'm saying is that, a great person can't show weakness or fear or sorrow because then that would make them human...and a great person isn't a person anymore because then that would show that that great person is no different than any other person. So that great person has to be bigger than a normal person, that great person has to be something brighter and bigger and beyond human reach.....
In a result of trying to be grand and great, the great person has a meltdown.....

I don't know what to say exactly, the fact that this is "The Sun" speaking, thinking, arguing with itself gives it some very human features, but then it says "I am not human" which is quite contradicting to the existence of this poem.
At first I thought that the use of the Sun was metaphorical for someone holy, especially with that horse reference, reminded me of Joan of Arc lol.
But anyway, quite good, not the best I've ever seen, but quite refreshing and original.
