Night Life.

Night Life.

A Poem by Rae

Lights.

Trees.

Beauty.

As the night sleeps itself away,
Most of the city's inhabitants
Are missing their home's most gorgeous moments.

Not me.

My window is rolled down
As the perfection and loveliness
Rushes past me
In a waterfall
Leaving me speechless.

The smell of pine becomes intoxicating,
And I realize how much I have here.

And how difficult it would be to leave.

Until, of course, reality sucks me back in
Like a vacuum of evil.

And the sun washes away every trace of the night life
That I have come to love oh so much,
Leaving me with no escape
Until the next eight o' clock
In the afternoon,
Or as I think of it,
The starting hour
Of true beauty...

In the middle of southeast Texas.♥
