Recollection

A Poem by Deandra Dawn

Recollection

Recollection of past assaults
yielding ingenious to
indifference
incessant shrieking
following unbridled agony
a disciple of distinction
valor
unpleasantly reaching
a conclusion
of informality
a convenient disarray
of confusion
frantically searching
for an intelligent
word
to offset the
delusional angst
of a rabid encounter
within the reveries of a
distinguished individual
incapacitated by
their own denial
and drowning
in their
own
misunderstood
illusions

The visuals are almost too many for me to count, but what makes me drawn to this is the flow feels like it can reflect someone in a hospital ward, battlefield, lone prairie home, someone sitting on a park bench at Penn-station. Any one and any where and of course..............the flow, the natural emotion, nothing is forced, the words set with so much detail.

Too late to say nice job?

Your work always pulls me in, makes me ask questions... makes me wonder... I feel like I'm part of all of it and none of it somehow... I can relate the the narrator, the subject, and everything in between... each noun a new persona for me to experience the piece through. I adore this.
