Her Tears

Her Tears

A Poem by Deandra Dawn
"

I just came up with this...might still tweak it.

"
Her Tears

I could see the turmoil in her eyes
before she turned her face up to the skies
tear by tear
drop by drop
a piece of her soul
washed from her eyes
and she cried
still cries
burning eyes

this looks to me to be a form poem of a tear beginning to swell beneath an eyelash. the tone is melancholic and the movement from past to present in the last two lines is a powerful touch. "a piece of her soul washed from her eyes", to me, is the core of the piece. your creativity is admirable and the compassion within this speaker appears nothing short of a gift.
