Downfall

Downfall

A Poem by Deandra Dawn

Downfall

Capture the light within your eyes and
let down the armor.
An arrangement of fortitude so
graciously accepted.
Bittersweet.
A beggar of an oppressive nature,
redirecting his assault toward
the harshness of sheer reality.
The origin of which led him to the
plunge....
downfall.
Surrendering to their pleasures,
imagination ceases,
an admonition of false
realism

It takes time to let down the armour. All too often I find that I have had it up so long, its hard to bring it down and let someone it. Especially of late, too much deception in the world. And that so damages love.
