A Morning, A Sound

A Morning, A Sound

A Poem by Anthony M. Barajas

There was a morning
When your eyes shined
as bright as the sun glaring
Down from the sky

Theres a sound
Etched in my heart
That moves like a snake,
And intertwines
Around my soul

There ares words spoken
In gentle waves
Leaving just a mark
Engraved within
The boundaries
Of our own tongues

There was a night
When I can feel you
Breathing
And I can count
The times
I wanted nothing
More
Than you
