Nervous Tick

Nervous Tick

A Poem by Dylan Rhodes
"

Addiction

"
Scratch, scratch, scratch.
Scratch, scratch, SCRATCH.
Attack, attack, attack.
Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.

Brown lines, through my blood lines
Stoned mind, opiate needle-mine
Cyanide, laughing all of the time
Dead bride, overdosed and undermined

Attacking relentlessly, over again
As I scratch the bugs out of my skin
Tug and pull on the empty syringe
Still in my arm, still wanting revenge
Not a day goes by that I don't feel sick
Still scratching my neck like some sort of tick

Scratch, scratch, scratch.
All I hear when I sleep
All I feel as I'm awake
Enough to drive me insane
Provigil and Sudafed, Amphetamine
Cannabis and Heroin, Dopamine
Cotton mouth and needle deep
Nodding out; the feeling - so concrete

Scratch, scratch, scratch...
Smack, smack, smack
Itch, itch, itch...
Tar-thick, little pinch
F*****g drenched, got my fix
