Another Broken Mirror

Another Broken Mirror

A Poem by Deadline
"

A mirror tends to show what we believe to be true, but know that what you see isn't always what others see when looking upon you.

"

With my headphones on and volume up,

I slowly die, and it really sucks.

I try to smile, but I just cant.

I just want to forget everything I am.

A failure, a loser, another lost soul,

A junkie who got clean before getting old,

A man who just wanted everyone to smile,

But who can no longer view the world like a child.

I'm crumbling like a weathered stone,

And everything just keeps getting cold.

I wish I could be numb again,

But I value you too much, my friend.

So I sit here with my headphones on,

While life around me continues going wrong.

I once could find only peace,

But I've forever lost that part of me.

My heart aches, and I don't know why.

I don't think I'm afraid to die.

I try to smile, but I can't seem to.

I just want to forget everything about you.
