Masquerade

Masquerade

A Poem by Zymotic

This pain resurrection in a smile...

Foul voices welcome me to hold their sin
Graceful are your lips as the truth is spoken
When this disease affects all the love that you behold
I'll freeze this thought and your nightmare to sleep and dream again
And forever is this room painted with their dark morbid thoughts
Behind these walls the hidden beauty suffers in darkness
We close these doors to happiness and lock the windows of the soul
As I walk the halls of this place my pain is growing
This was a sign of your sweet lies fading away
Unconvincing fear breeding an abomination
This distorted image tore down
As well as the reminiscent of our faith
And as the haze of the sunrise glares down upon me with hate
I smile...

As the flower withers and dies I feel my dreams have joined it
But there is still hope in suffering...

Haunted by the sea of tears and the rising tide
Time and time again
I carve the essence of my sadness in stone to remain eternally

Happiness to be discovered
All insecurities left behind
