STILL BORN DOVEA Poem by DECIVILThe difficulty in confessing my love to a loved one
STILL BORN DOVE
Sort out to be the lead, taking a peek Long have I thread on this sole, no heart to call a whole Reclined in the solitude of acquiescence, longing for acquisition Too long in this state, dumb both sides to alter the state The solitude not long shall forbear, mind lay bare I must In fear trudged I, not sure of the return But how long would the monster hold I down, brave it I must In pain or joy, the outcome I must make mine The songs of the past for long played the sooth Shall I sing same for the heart to be seen The blend not even could tell, for the sonorous has been smudged Only but saying could calm the sea of wells surging The night holds me prey, the day bore the dream so long The stars recount the ordeals in an encapsulating temple The sun hold on to let the words out yet too soft But the little voice tied down the efforts of my companions who could forbeear Now the rain has shown me that it must come or else the soil no future to man This let me in to see that what must shall hold sway And yours for all time in me I sight the loss And reconciliation with my companions is all I could but garner But though in your absent, let my mind bear me the testimony That me not was the whole barrier For this in me held, long until now I must brace To profess that you, my love unknown I love. © 2016 DECIVILAuthor's Note
