A crack in the mirror

A crack in the mirror

A Poem by Ddraper

I only grieve for those I've lost in my dreams,

perhaps that's because I haven't accepted reality yet.

Depressions hard to fight because you can't see it,

but take a look in the mirror and you'll find the cause of it, I bet.

I took a break because I thought I needed more time,

but what I really needed was to use that time more to live.

I thought I needed more space, but it's not the size of the space,

more who you choose to share it with.

I must learn from my mistakes and not use them as bars to imprison,

as I will never see the light if I barricade myself inside.

I must learn to accept the fact I am only human,

and not be afraid of the thoughts and feelings I try to hide.

For it is those emotions that will set us free,

if we let go of the old and embrace the new.

You will start to see that the only thing standing in the way of happiness,

is actually you.
