Nightmares From Dreams

A poem of betrayal by friends.

I fell  in love with you

and you with me

misunderstood by

friends and family.

Things might not have been perfect

might not have been smooth

but who were they

to say you had something to prove.

Yes, we had problems 

and even fights

but somehow things would

always turn out right.

I longed for their support

a friendly hand

not harsh criticizm

and strong demands.

When you were distant

I needed them there

but when you were loving

I wanted to share.

Why couldn't they see

why didn't they know

you are my life

and I love you so.

It's not you now 

destroying my life it seems

but my friends who are

making nightmares out of my dreams.

If you really love someone then you should accept you and whoever you are with, regardless of how they feel about it. As long as that person is good to you most of the time, we all know that all of us has our share of flaws. If you don't you accept it you could loss the one you love forever, nice poem.

Those closest can often seem the most distant, they cannot see our need of them to be there for us. Your piece speaks volumes about love and family/friends why can they not just be happy for the love you've found and support you. Keep em' coming Sis

Oh dang, lol... I'm so amazed with this piece!! Absolutely wonderful!!! I love the flow and rhyme!! I love every line.. it's just good. Hmm also nice use of the pic.. isn't it from the old version of Romeo and Juliet? (I love that version of Romeo & Juliet.) Definately going to my favorites! I can read it over and over. =) I love the feelings here in this poem. It is sad when relationships fail not due to the lovers but the people around them that causes them to break apart.. To not be accepted of the love for someone you love dearly - Gah.. for me, I would hate it and I don't think I could bear the pain either.. it'd be so tragic. xD

But anyways, I love this poem! You wrote it so well. Fantastic job! Thanks for sharing!
