I Live For The Day

I Live For The Day

A Poem by Daytonight
"

A sad love poem.

"

Oh I live for the day
when I wouldn't be taken for granted
when he would wake up
and realize what he had
standing right here
in front of him.

That here was a woman
who would love him with
everything in her power
who would stand by his side
no matter what happened
who would cheer him on
comfort him in his sorrows
treasure him for who he is.

That he would see
I am always here for him
waiting on him to turn to me
no matter what the time is
available to him 24 hours
7 days a week
always there putting him first
never ever taking him for granted.

That I am always striving
to make myself better for him
wanting him to be proud of me
hoping he would take notice of me
once again like he use to
and love me for who I am
because I am so in love with him.

Oh I live for the day
when I wouldn't be taken for granted
when he would wake up
and realize what he had
standing right here
in front of him.

Men and women long for the same, though men are often too filled with BS to admit it. Your poem sums up a universal desire. It is handled with such dexterity and passion that it's as powerful as it gets. Wonderful work. And should he de real, the man's a fool not to realise what he had.

But I love the message and meaning here. A very powerful poem! I enjoyed reading this. Thanks for sharing.

People tend to take for granite what is right in front of there eyes, hence the expression "don't know what you got till it is gone." I know many feel the same way as you expressed in this piece.

Heart strings plucked Sis, this is so sad and yet so beautiful for to have a love 24/7 is wonderful and always to be loved and not simply taken for granted is dreamy. Keep em' coming

Beautiful poem and tells a so real tale that most people can't recognise...where love really is :)

Most women long for the same thing. Even some men do. You have every right to be desired and cherished as anyone should be.

Oh dear, you need to strive to make yourself better for you, and then he will want to be around that better person for she will be something that captivates his heart.
