Only Moments

A love poem.

Mist swirling round me

in the dark of night

footsteps coming closer

giving me a fright.

Then I turn and look

my heart leapt into my throat

you stopped me where I stood

our love story was now wrote.

Your eyes held mine prisoner

rooting me to this spot

making me to tremble

turning my face so hot.

Although it was only moments

it seemed to be a long time

that we had known each other

and now I wanted you for mine.

Strangers in the darkness

met in swirling mist

falling magically in love

when we first kissed.
