A sad and lonely poem

Where did my knight in shining armor go

wherefore art thou my beloved Romeo?

Where is my Mr. Darcy with all of his charms

sweeping me up into his strong arms?

Where have you gone my Lancelot so dear

I am waiting here so lonely as your Guinevere.

Where is my Prince Charming ever so sweet

to carry me off with glass slippers on my feet?

Where did you go Bogie, are you there at all

can you hear the heart of your loving Bacall?

Where are you Antony, crossing the Nile

to be with your Cleopatra for a while?

Where have you gone my elusive Romeo

here is your shrewish Kate, where are you Petruchio?

Where did you go oh love of my life

when my one desire is to be your wife?
