Touching my Life

A poem about touch

You give caring compassion

when on your shoulder I cry

and then you very gently

wipe the tears from my eye.

 

When I wanted to try to do

something fulfilling and brand new

you stood right beside me

and rooted me through.

 

When I didn't think I could

make one step further

you picked me up 

carried me to shelter.

 

Standing beside me

holding me so tight

never letting me go

throughout the dark night.

 

There is not a part

of my life you haven't touched

and that is why 

I love you so very much.
