Guardian and Protector of Her Heart

A love poem about a brave knight.

Guardian brave, strong, and true

protector of her heart too

tenderly lead and guide

shelter safe next to your side

take her hand, show her the way

ever faithful, never stray

in everything take full control

you are her very heart and soul

she longs to be your lady fair

with lovely locks of chestnut hair

needing someone on which to lean

never unkind, never mean

but teach her what to do

when she makes sweet love to you

so she doesn't have to take charge,

is that an order so very  large,

she gets tired of being strong

for her protector is what she longs

someone she can cry on his shoulder

like days of knights when they were bolder

one who would gather her up in his arms

kissing away all her alarms

she longs for guardian brave, strong, and true

who is protector of her heart too.

I love this! I dare say it's one of my favorites by you so far. I think all women go after a man like that, a protector, someone who will kiss away their fears, and wipe away their tears. I just love this, and it's going straight into my favorites.

It is a man's pure instinct to protect and defend his love...even die for her if needs be. The age of chivalry may be over but there are some men (me included) who feel just that way. For I still do too and will do until I die. Lovely, stirring words you pen.
