The Last Word

The Last Word

A Poem by Dayran
"

Three principles

"

Three principles that support our enthusiasm for life,

There are hard to find these days, behind the wall of Para Noi,

The first is the mystery of our lives, lived in nervousness,

The second is the suspicion that creeps daily despite us,

And the third is the wonder that fills us with delight, nevertheless.

Put together, they are the idealism of the teenager, in expectation,

Of the many lights and shadows that lure us into the unknown.

They are the father and mother from the beginning of time,

They seek to teach their children, not hurt them.

Give them a chance, stay with the kid, get past the Para Noi,

' Know yourself,' said the oracle at Apollo. Don't screw it up!

Life seems to be a long time in its lessons A fickled task master that teaches us the hard truths that we then incorporate into ourselves. It is the man who manages by hook or crook to drag his childish wonder into his adulthood ..Those are the men that others follow and wonder on. Because they have the spark of innocence. No price can rightly distinguish the value of a man who still looks at life with childish wonder.
