The Hidden Toils of LoveA Poem by DayranPrecious concernIt loved too well and couldn't bear to see,
Its lover missing a solace or comfort to be.
The maiden dashed to provide relief at hand,
Even before he realized he was slightly amissed.
Such joys in the giving that came to possess us,
As the fruit of the tree seeks to give of itself.
Plainly pleased that we are able to bring joy at will,
A hand that's lent, with the body nectarine's intent.
Hail to thou pride, which abides with these gifts,
A duty of joy, a purpose of responsibility fulfilled.
Like the roots of the tree that nourishes the plant,
You are the famed buttress for the flowering 'moisle
Too long it seems has Pinotec toiled in selflessness,
Not him, but his mirror, endears a smile for glory, briefly.
For life comes from the merriment of the encounter
What you perchance didn't know, before you needed 'er.
